BIO

A hot comedy commodity, Seattle-native Lance Tracy’s signature is a visually polished subtle humor, often involving a smart conceptual twist and hidden special effects.

He moved to LA in 1996 to become an in-house director, making half-hour films for 5 years. Genres included everything from disaster to family, which helped him forge a versatile and uninhibited comedic range. With distribution in 155 countries and 15 languages, he earned 12 writing and directing awards.

In 2004 he formed a media company, directing and editing a successful feature documentary, which premiered at the DGA. Both a comedy and an involved scientific study, Sundance deemed it, “an accomplished film”. For 5 years he continued directing and editing international documentaries, music videos and client films.

Lance now focuses entirely on commercials, cherishing his friendships with top agency creatives. He has directed spots for clients like Mattel, Fox Sports and Brakemasters with friends at DDB-LA and several other celebrated creatives. Most recently he directed a 2-spot campaign for Ace Hardware and a 4-spot campaign for Flatrate Moving.

Lance Tracy continues to spread the comedy gospel through various reps on the West Coast, Midwest and East Coast. He lives in LA with two dogs, two kids and one wife.
